The Palucka lab is seeking an independent, highly motivated PhD-level scientist to join our project on Modulation of lung immune responses to viral infection (NIH U19 AI142733). The overarching goal of this project is to uncover the impact of aging on epithelial barrier function and downstream regulation of immune responses in healthy people and patients with lung cancer. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in immunology, cell and/or molecular biology. This talented individual would have access to a world-class consortium of experts in genome editing, delivery systems, and human tissue and organoid models among others. 


QUALIFICATIONS
•    M.D. and/or Ph.D. in immunology, cancer biology, clinical oncology, or related field of study.
•    Prior research experience documented by publications in peer-reviewed journals . 
•    Experience in human cell culture, basic molecular biology, single cell technologies for transcriptomics, flow cytometry (or other forms of cytometric analyses), cellular histology and confocal microscopy especially live-cell imaging is particularly desirable.
•    Excellent writing and communication skills, able to work independently and effectively with other members in a productive team.
