Job Description
Summary
The position will involve research in the area of Neuroscience. Studies will investigate neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. Research will involve the use of mouse models taking advantage of tools in anatomy, neuropathology, genetics, molecular biology, behavior, electrophysiology, and neuromodulation. The overall goal is to understand how brain circuits develop, function, and deteriorate in disease and to test therapeutic strategies to repair circuits.
Job Duties
- Assists in carrying out bench research in the areas of neuroscience, neuropathology, genetics, molecular biology, behavior, electrophysiology, and neuromodulation.
- Collects and curates data in Excel worksheets and carry out analysis using software,such asPrism and Matlab.
- Creates data presentations to be delivered locally, nationally, and internationally at lab meetings and conferences.
- Assists in analyzing and assembling data for peer review publications.
- Assists in preparing publications for submission to peer review journals.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- The best candidates will have acquired a PhD (or equivalent degree such as a DPhil) in neuroscience or a related field such as neurobiology, genetics, and developmental biology. A PhD or DPhil in the areas of mathematics and engineering will also be considered if the candidate has received some formal training in bench biology.
