A Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity is immediately available for the highly motivated individual in the laboratory of Dr. ZJ Sun, founding director of the Prostate Cancer Research Program in the comprehensive cancer center.
Dr. Sun’s research interest focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying transcriptional control and cell signaling in development and tumorigenesis. His ongoing projects include using cutting-edge mouse models and other in vivo and in vitro approaches to uncover gene expression and genomic and epigenetic alterations during the course of early cancer development and aging. Recently, his group has developed new mouse models to investigate the effects of androgens in the pathogenesis of prostate cancer and other aging-related disorders.
As a successful candidate, you will:
· Directly work on the novel and ongoing projects on prostatic stem cells and stem cell niches in prostate development and tumorigenesis using “cutting edge” and unbiased analytic tools and unique and innovative genetically engineered mouse models (please see some of the recent publications: PLoS Genet 2020 Jan 13:16(1):e1008588; Development 2021 Jan 11:148(1):dev196048; Development 2021 Oct 1:148(19):dev199738; Nat Commun 2022 Jul 28:13:4364; Nat Commun 2022 Nov 2:13:6552).
· PhD or M.D/PhD degree in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, or a related field.
· Background within cancer biology, molecular biology or cellular biology
· Experience working with animal or mouse models preferred

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.00 - $34.23 / hour
