Job Description

Summary

Work in the lab focuses on the development and maintenance of neural circuits and on identifying synapse specificity molecules. As a member of the lab, the applicant would establish human retina and brain organoid cultures to help answer these questions combined with CRISPR mediated gene removal to test individual proteins in these processes. The applicant will work under minimal supervision, pursue an independent project, and contribute to grants and papers.

Job Duties

  • Helps to design and lead an independent research project.
  • Collects, prepares and analyzes research data; keeps a detailed notebook summarizing experiments and recording research data.
  • Designs and implements research protocols; adapts new procedures, methods or instrumentation relative to research procedures.
  • Maintains computer database of research data Tabulate and display data for presentation in research conferences and for manuscript preparation.
  • Uses graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data.
  • Helps coordinate research efforts for increased efficiency Search pertinent scientific literature as needed.
  • Assists with paper and grant writing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.
