Job Description

The Strategic Security Sciences Division’s National and Cyber Security Information Sciences Department is currently seeking a Project Coordinator for their Workforce Development group to provide a driving force behind the success of key projects and programs within the department. The goal of the group is to grow the workforce pipeline, re-enforce cyber skillsets within the current workforce, and develop and train the workforce seeking to transition into the cybersecurity field.

We are seeking a project coordinator to align projects and programs with business goals, construct detailed work plans, manage project teams, achieve timely milestones, and effectively communicate results to stakeholders and senior leadership. We are looking for a project coordinator to grow and help maintain our position as a workforce development leader specifically for the CyberForce Program as well as other projects within the group. The ideal candidate will have experience in multi-tasking, strong work plan development, excellent communication skills, and effective time management.

In this position, you will:

  • Juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work with management and stakeholders to identify and define project requirement, scope, and objectives that align with the mission of the project/program.

  • Coordinate both internal and external resources to ensure the project meets the expectations within scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Assign roles and tasks to dedicated team members, based on strengths and abilities.

  • Achieve organizational goals while upholding standards and best practices.

  • Ability to think outside of the box to achieve success for the project.

  • Ability to model Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.

Position Requirements

To be considered you must have:

  • Proven success in an organizational setting, working with all levels of management

  • Hands-on experience with managing teams

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Proven history of project management experience

  • Competence and experience in project control or management functions and using project scheduling software or systems (e.g., Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera Project Planner P6 and Risk Management tools, or other related project management tools).

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools, with emphasis in MS Excel, Project, OneNote, etc. for creating and maintaining detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases

  • Experience in applying project controls skills to perform effective project and data management. Must be able to summarize data clearly, for inclusion in project reports and records.

  • Must be able to summarize data in clear and concise manner, including creating advanced graphs and data sets for inclusion in reports and presentations (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience in providing solutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope.

  • Project management credentials (education, PMI certification or other) a plus.

The selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level (PT3 or PT4) dependent upon depth and breadth of relevant knowledge and skills brought to the position, as well as the amount of relevant experience. The basic requirements of the various levels are as follows:

  • PT3 Level: Bachelor’s and 4+ years of experience

  • PT4: Bachelor’s and 6+ years of experience

Successful applicants for this position must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, be able to successfully obtain a "Q" security clearance and pass a drug test prior to employment as defined in 10 CFR 707.4.
