Summary
The Pharmacology and Chemical Biology Department at Baylor College of Medicine have a position open for a postdoctoral researcher with experience in natural products isolation.
Job Duties
- Leads a number of research projects centered on the isolation of microbial natural products and elucidation of biological mechanisms.
- Serves as a foundational member of an emerging laboratory, and thus expected to manage and execute projects with limited direct supervision.
- Communicates within a group setting effectively and proactively, and provides secondary mentorship towards potential trainees.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Familiarity with small molecule isolation methods, including column chromatography and HPLC/LCMS.
- Experience with chemical structure elucidation via NMR.
- Any familiarity with microbiology or molecular biology would be considered an asset.
- Fluent in English; written and oral.
- Self-motivated.
