Job Description

The Koth (https://sarcoidosis.ucsf.edu/) and the Ansel (https://ansel.ucsf.edu/) Labs are seeking a PhD-level research scientist to join a funded collaboration focused on determining the immunological host responses to granulomatous inflammation using single cell RNA seq and ATAC-seq in 288 independent human samples.

The Postdoctoral Candidate will work collaboratively with wet-lab biologists within the CoLabs at UCSF (https://colabs.ucsf.edu/) to design, organize and conduct experiments to process human blood samples for next-generation sequencing (NGS). The candidate will also have the opportunity to learn data analysis from data scientists. The position is based at the UCSF Parnassus campus located in San Francisco, California. Data for the proposed project will be generated using consistent and highly optimized workflows.

Minimum qualifications
- PhD or MD PhD in basic or health science
- Strong abilities in working as a part of a team and collaboration
- Strong skills in communicating results and documentation
Preferred qualifications
An interest in learning how to analyze single-cell sequencing data or prior experience working with large datasets is a plus
