Postdoc Fellow – Molecular Oncology

Dr. Mark Alexandrow is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to study innovative molecular targets for cancer treatment. Our lab studies the role of the DNA replication machinery in cancer and is developing drugs against enzymes involved in this process. Our lab is part of the Molecular Oncology Department at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Candidate should have demonstrated experience in performing protein-based experiments, and have basic skills in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology approaches.
  • Cancer Biology experience and an understanding of cancer at the molecular level is preferred.
  • An interest in DNA replication is a plus.
  • Excellent speaking and writing abilities are also required.
  • Preference will be given to a candidate with 2-3 years’ experience.


  • The researcher will be responsible for performing cell-based and biochemical experiments. Protein purification and enzyme testing is involved, and structural research involving X-ray crystallography is also a focus.
  • Will be required to formulate results in a clear manner, and present findings in group meetings or institution-wide seminars, and in peer-reviewed publications.
  • The candidate will also be encouraged to write grants/fellowships and will receive mentorship in this process.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • M.D. or Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Cancer Biology, or related discipline with laboratory research experience.
