Job Description


The Mysorekar lab has opportunities for newly graduated Ph.D. students who seek advanced postdoctoral training in reproductive biology/immunology, viral infections in pregnancy are welcome to apply for this position. These studies involve understanding the impact of SARS COV2, or Zika virus infection on pregnancy. Using mouse models, cell culture models, 3D organoid cultures, and placental tissues, we take a variety of approaches to understanding viral pathogenesis in an exciting new program researching the immunity at the maternal-fetal interface.

Job Duties

  • Plan, direct, and conduct specialized and advanced research experiments under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Indira Mysorekar.
  • Evaluate and analyze data.
  • Establish new research protocols and procedures pertinent to the projects.
  • Summarize research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • Manage laboratory operations.
  • Supervise junior graduate students or undergraduates in the lab.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD degree; experience with molecular and cell biology techniques, proven ability to design projects and execute (papers, seminars, etc.)
  • We particularly encourage a background in molecular and cell biology, experience in mouse studies, tissue culture. Background in immunology is preferred.
