Job Description

Summary

The lab works on the genetic and epigenetic regulation of heart failure. We use diverse omics tools and genetically engineered mouse models. One particular interest is circadian rhythm. Our ultimate goal is to design novel therapeutic strategies for heart failure. We also use the human induced pluripotent stem cell model to study inherited cardiomyopathies in patients.

 

The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to carry out projects independently under the direction of the mentor. This position should be able to plan and conduct experiments, perform trouble shooting, collect and analyzing data, and prepare manuscripts.

 

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, recent PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics or related field, with a strong interest and experience in cardiovascular biology. 

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals. 
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Molecular biology and cell biology.
  • Experience of working with mice.
  • Mouse echo and cardiac surgery, bioinformatics.
