Job Description

Summary

Postdoctoral Associate needed to characterize the molecular underpinnings of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This position will develop a fly model for MS and show that drugs that improve the progression of MS in humans strongly improve the health of the MS flies. The Postdoctoral Associate will identify drugs in flies that improve the MS in flies and we hope to show that some of the drugs are beneficial to a mouse model for MS. We hope to start clinical trials in the near future.

Job Purpose

Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals. 
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.
