Job Description

Job Purpose

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to analyze how the brain names objects. More specifically, the researcher will describe and interpret nonlinear dynamics of neural activity recorded intracranially from human subjects performing visual naming tasks. The candidate should have familiarity with linear dynamical systems, hidden Markov models, and signal processing. No knowledge of neuroscience is required but would be advantageous. The researcher would spend time in both the theory lab (xaqlab.com) and a collaborating neurosurgery lab (tandonlab.org).

Job Responsibilities
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
