We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a post-doctoral position within the Laboratory for Regenerative Tissue Repair at the Baylor College of Medicine. The laboratory is focused on furthering our understanding of the molecular mechanisms that underlie the fetus' ability to regeneratively heal cutaneous wounds and the development of novel therapies to achieve scarless wound healing in postnatal tissues. The laboratories within the center perform basic, translational, and pre-clinical research on the crosstalk between extracellular microenvironment, immunoregulation and mechanotransduction in tissue repair outcomes. The position currently available is to study the biogenesis, composition, structure and function of exosomes and microparticles in the skin and scars using tissue culture, and small animal model systems of wound healing. We will further explore the role of exosomes as delivery vehicles for targeted gene regulation.
