Job Description
Are you a highly motivated and ambitious researcher? Are you passionate about studying the immune system and its role in autoimmunity? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.Columbia University's molecular and translational rheumatology training program is currently seeking postdoctoral researchers. Translational rheumatology involves bringing patients and their diseases into the laboratory to unravel the mechanisms responsible for their disease. The goal is simply to understand what is wrong with the patient in molecular terms to develop improved and individualized therapies. The program’s mission is to train promising investigators in the methodologies and approaches needed for scientific careers in basic and translational research. By providing an innovative training environment that builds on the considerable strengths of Columbia University (founded in 1754) and is supported by a superb set of mentors, we offer three training tracks: genetic predisposition of autoimmunity, molecular mechanisms of rheumatic diseases, and progression to clinical disease. This program consists of training by experienced investigators and includes optional degree coursework. One of the goals of the program is learning to bridge computational science with the molecular and cellular biology of rheumatic diseases.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our team of experienced investigators, contribute to the development of new drugs, conduct cutting-edge research and study the fundamental mechanisms underlying autoimmunity. Eligible candidates are PhD or MD postdoctoral scientists or clinical rheumatology fellows who are committed to autoimmunity research. US affiliation or citizenship is a requirement. Competitive salary is guaranteed. Those who enjoy the excitement and opportunity the big apple brings should apply.
Does this sound like you? Do you have a strong desire to contribute to exciting discoveries that can lead to novel therapeutics in the field of immunology? For more information about the specific opportunities and to apply please contact and forward your CV to Adam Mor MD PhD at: [email protected].
