Job Description

Argonne’s Transportation and Power Systems Division seeks applicants for a Technology Integration (TI) Project Coordinator to support the deployment of clean energy and transportation programs into communities across the nation, including various projects for the National Clean Cities network.

Facilitated by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Technology Integration Program, Clean Cities includes nearly 100 U.S. coalitions working in their local communities to advance affordable, domestic transportation fuels, energy efficient mobility systems, and other fuel-saving technologies and practices.

The TI Project Coordinator will manage the Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program (CCUWDP) for DOE, which provides a real-world training ground for students to embed at Clean Cities Coalitions across the nation, gaining real-world experience building public awareness of advanced vehicle technologies, alternative fuels, and practices that reduce the consumption of petroleum.

Working closely with DOE sponsors and other stakeholders, the TI Project Coordinator will select Clean Cities Coalition participants; support internship recruiting and evaluation; provide professional development and education through webinars, mentoring, and career guidance; manage alumni communication; collect data and ensure the program meets sponsor milestones, budgets, and deadlines; and provide regular reports out to leadership and sponsors.

Selected candidate will also support other projects focused on clean energy and transportation deployment; energy and mobility equity and environmental justice; diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM; and workforce development and education. 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years’ experience or master’s degree with 0+ years of experience.

  • Preferred candidate should be a self-starter with skill in oral and written communication, including professional presentations, and technical writing.

  • Skill in community outreach and engagement

  • Skill in MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint computer software.

  • A successful candidate must have the ability to model Argonne’s core values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, environmental science, business, or marketing preferred.
