Job Description

Primary Liaison with the Laboratory’s Communication, Education and Public Affairs (CEPA) as well as other divisions hosting special events, VIPs and other groups. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Protective Force to ensure organizational effectiveness.
  • Track, trend, and conduct analysis of data generated by Protective Force and Site Access operations.
  • Maintain administrative functions of security systems, and assist in developing and updating various security related policies, procedures, guides and plans.
  • Ensure seamless and timely security access for special events, VIPs and groups.
  • Assist with the development and maintain a site-wide accountability system to include emergency notifications and other communications related to site access.
  • Assist with the implementation of training Protective Force and Site Access to meet applicable DOE requirements.

Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of criminal justice, industrial security and/or law enforcement is desired
  • Must possess technical competency of systems, programs and applications and the ability to understand integrations between those systems
  • Ability to gather, analyze and organize information from a variety of resources and databases
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and strong work ethic
  • Effective and proactive communicator
  • Strong emphasis on time management and prioritization of work load
  • Knowledge of Laboratory infrastructure, processes and DOE orders as they pertain to security operations is favored

Other:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years relevant experience
  • Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship and be able to successfully obtain a "Q" security clearance.
  • Must pass a drug test prior to employment as defined in 10 CFR 707.4.
  • Required to become a DOE certified Basic Instructor and Intermediate Force Instructor (physical training)
