Job Description

Conduct turfgrass and landscape research at the OSU Turfgrass Research Center in Stillwater, OK, the Cimarron Valley Research Station in Perkins, OK, the Mingo Valley Research Station in Bixby, OK, OK Ridge North greenhouse, and the Controlled Environmental Research Lab. The research objectives align with the multi-state, multi-university turfgrass research funded through the USDA Specialty Crops Research Program; USGA sponsored research on putting green bermudagrass development; NTEP turfgrass trials, OSU bermudagrass turf breeding program efforts, and with the Oklahoma Turfgrass Research Foundation; place order for research supplies.

Position Qualifications
Required:

Ph.D. / Ed.D. in horticulture, crop science or related field of study
Knowledge of turfgrass and landscape research protocols and objectives. Experience in peer-review journal publication. Proficient in MS Office, SAS or R statistical software, UAS / drone aircraft. Proficient in the use of data collection tools including digital cameras and light boxes, NDVI meters, chlorophyll meters, moisture meters. Ability to work outdoors during hot or inclimate weather conditions.

Oklahoma pesticide applicator in categories 3a and/or 10 and the FAA remote pilot certificate or ability to obtain both within 90 days of hire.

Knowledge in computer, telephone, typewriter, copier, audiovisual, power tools & hand tools. Proficient in MS word, excel, and PowerPoint.

Will be in the office environment and some outside and will be exposed to hot and cold weather.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
