Job Description
Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois, is seeking an outstanding physics investigator with a strong record of accomplishments in important areas of experimental nuclear-structure physics. Candidate will lead research projects involving nuclear structure and nuclear reactions in the Low Energy Group of the Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory. Candidates should have a significant national reputation for research excellence, and will be responsible for leading and expanding a federally funded research program. Candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program, which utilizes the ATLAS facility at Argonne National Laboratory and the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB).
Position Requirements
Requirements include a Ph.D. in nuclear physics or related field, and research interests that are centered around nuclear structure studies using direct reactions in inverse kinematics, as well as, expertise in the use of solenoidal spectrometers such as HELIOS at ATLAS and SOLARIS at FRIB. Senior-level research appointment and competitive salary commensurate with experience.
